NIMC National ID Card: How to check if your's is already available

The Federal Government has since made provision for a Unified Identity card for all Nigerians through the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

The commission has disclosed to the members of the general public that they can now visit NIMC centres where they did their registeration excercise to claim their NIMC Identity Card.

You can check online the status of your card prior to visiting the centre in order to be sure your NIMC card is ready to  be collected.

All you need to do is:

* Visit the NIMC card status URL here

* Find a button "proceed" and click on it

* Input your First Name in the provided field

* Input your Last Name in the provided field

* Supply the last 6 digits of your printed NIN Slip when you first registered

 The Federal Government has placed much importance on the new National Identity card which is multipurpose, it can be used to make cash transactions across the Globe on ATMs and recently the Government has mandated that all Pilgrims must have the NIN ID card before they are allowed to travel or renew their International passport.
